Maton Guitars was established in 1946 by Bill May, a Jazz musician and woodworking teacher in Melbourne. Since its inception, Maton has become Australia’s largest manufacturer of high end acoustic and electric guitars. Maton is renowned for the playability and tone of their guitars which are hand crafted whilst utilizing the latest in manufacturing and design technology from their new factory in Box Hill, Victoria, Australia.

Maton is still 100% family owned and operated by Linda and Neville Kitchen, Bill May’s daughter and son in law. Maton is experiencing its most prolific stage in the company’s 57 year history with demand for the product exceeding supply and international markets growing.
